2025 Abstract Submission

The AAAP is calling for abstracts to be presented at the 2025 AAAP Annual Meeting in Portland, OR. Abstract submission will open November 22, 2024. You must be an AAAP member to submit an abstract. The last day to submit an abstract is January 24, 2025You will be notified of your submission status on February 14th, 2025. This will be a hybrid meeting, meaning you have the option of presenting virtually. Virtual Presentations will be prerecorded and uploaded to AAAP’s learning management system. Attendees of the meeting will be able to view (but not download) the presentation for a period between July 1 and August 1. Oral presentations will not be recorded and will remain in-person only.


Abstract Requirements

The AAAP is using a new abstract submission system called Oxford Abstracts. You will need to create a profile with Oxford to submit. Please keep this login information in case you need to edit your submission later. 

Oral presentations are 15 minutes, 12 minutes for presentation and 3 minutes for questions, while posters should be no bigger than 4’ by 4’. Please read our speaker agreement carefully before submitting.

  • Abstracts will be reviewed and selected based on the following criteria: Clinical Relevance, Scientific Rigor, Originality, Lack of Commercial Bias, and Writing Skills. 
  • Quality of abstracts should be similar to those that are submitted to the Avian Diseases journal, or other specific scientific meetings.
  • Abstracts should include introduction, procedures/materials and methods, results and conclusions. Case reports should include introduction, clinical signs, necropsy findings, diagnostic workup and conclusion.
  • No trade names are allowed in presentation titles. Please limit the mention of trade names in your abstract to no more than one.

The AAAP provides travel support to speakers upon request. Travel support is given from a fixed pool of funds evenly to all speakers who request it. This means if you do not require travel support more is available for other speakers who do. Presenters have registration fees waived using a discount code that will be provided later. Presenters must not share this code with any other parties.
